Mute Comp. Physical Theatre is a theater company, which was founded in 1999 by choreographers Jacob Stage (b. 1969) and Kasper Ravnhøj (b. 1977). Mute is an acronym for Movement United with Text Expression. Stage and Ravnhøj's goal is to combine text, dance and physical theater. Since 2009 Mute Comp. have had their base in the abandoned Carlsberg brewery in Copenhagen together with several other Danish dance companies. Besides dance and movement the group often gets inspiration from other forms of expression such as poetry slam, contemporary circus, street dance and slapstick comedy. Mute Comp. deals with urban themes and trends, and their performances explores man's dark side. For example their ''Illegal trilogy'', which consists of ''Knock on Unpainted Wood'', ''F.U.B.A.R.'' and ''BLACKOUT!'', is about respectively trafficking, arms and drugs. Mute Comp. is known for incorporating live music in their productions. For example the Nordic band Valravn was part of the show ''Grasping the Floor with the back of my head'', and in ''F.U.B.A.R.'' the American band Legendary Shack Shakers was starring. Mute Comp. has toured in countries such as Syria, USA, Russia, France, Egypt and Bulgaria. They have received several nominations and awards for their work. In 2002 Kasper Ravnhøj received a Reumert Talent Award. In 2008 Mute Comp. participated in the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre with the performance ''Grasping the Floor with the back of my head'', where they received the award for Best Performance and a nomination for Best Female Performance. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Mute Comp.
